Abstract
ABSTRACT Silab,sergius rihzal hermansyah. 2024. The Of English As The Media For Teaching Listening In Junior High Schools. Final Assignment. English Department, Language and Science Faculty, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Advisor : Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd Listening is one of the skills that must be mastered. However, many students struggle during listening sessions, particularly in comprehending what the speaker is saying. It is because they lack the necessary background knowledge to listen. A sound strategy for improving their listening abilities is required. The use of songs in the listening classroom can pique students' interests. As a result, the goal of this research was to learn more about the use of song to improve students' listening abilities. This study involved library research. The findings of this study were gathered by reading and analyzing articles from online media. This article contains some findings, such as information on how to implement songs, as well as the fact that after implementing songs, students' listening scores improved and their vocabulary grew. Using song as a medium can be an effective strategy for motivating students to improve their listening skills. Keywords : songs, listening skills
