Abstract

Latar belakang: Katarak merupakan kekeruhan pada lensa mata yang menjadi penyebab utama kebutaan di seluruh dunia, termasuk di Indonesia. Kejadian katarak dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor risiko degeneratif dan sistemik seperti usia, jenis kelamin, serta komorbiditas diabetes melitus (DM). Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui profil pasien katarak berdasarkan usia, jenis kelamin, dan penyakit penyerta diabetes melitus di RS Islam Muhammadiyah Sumberrejo tahun 2024. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 175 pasien katarak di RS Islam Muhammadiyah Sumberrejo pada tahun 2024 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat deskriptif menggunakan perangkat lunak statistik. Hasil: Distribusi pasien katarak didominasi oleh jenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 94 pasien (53,7%) dibandingkan laki-laki sebanyak 81 pasien (46,3%). Berdasarkan kelompok usia, kasus terbanyak ditemukan pada rentang usia 51–60 tahun (39,4%), diikuti kelompok usia 61–70 tahun (33,1%). Berdasarkan penyakit penyerta, mayoritas pasien tidak memiliki komorbid diabetes melitus yaitu sebanyak 143 pasien (81,7%), sedangkan pasien dengan komorbid diabetes melitus berjumlah 32 pasien (18,3%). Kesimpulan: Karakteristik pasien katarak di RS Islam Muhammadiyah Sumberrejo tahun 2024 mayoritas terjadi pada perempuan, didominasi oleh kelompok usia pra-lansia/lansia (51–60 tahun), dan sebagian besar pasien tidak memiliki penyakit penyerta diabetes melitus.
