Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efek ekstrak daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus secara in vitro. Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri gram positif yang sering menyebabkan infeksi serius dan resisten terhadap berbagai antibiotik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu difusi cakram dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 10%, 15%, dan 20%, serta kontrol positif (kloramfenikol 30 µg) dan kontrol negatif (aquadest steril). Parameter yang diamati adalah diameter zona hambat yang menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak dan Percentage Inhibition of Diameter Growth (PIDG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa zona hambat dan PIDG tertinggi terdapat pada konsentrasi 20%, dengan artian ekstrak daun jeruk purut memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Ekstrak daun jeruk purut paling efektif terdapat pada konsentrasi 15% dengan zona hambat sebesar 11,42 mm. Konsentrasi 15% pada ekstrak daun jeruk purut dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri alami.
