Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetukan resistensi bakteri Staphylococcus sp yang diisolasi dari urine kucing yang menderita infeksi saluran kemih (ISK) terhadap tiga jenis antibiotik : Amoksisilin-Asam Klavulanat, Sulfametoxazol-Trimethoprim dan Tetrasiklin. Sebanyak 20 sampel urine kucing dikumpulkan dari K and P Clinic Surabaya dengan menggunakan metode pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Isolasi Staphylococcus sp menggunakan media Cystine-Lactose-Electrolyte-Deficient (CLED) dan media Mannitol Salt Agar (MSA). Identifikasi Staphylococcus sp menggunakan pewarnaan gram serta uji biokimia seperti MR (Methyle Red)-VP (Voges- Proskauer) dan katalase. Hasil menunjukkan prevalensi Staphylococcus sp sebesar 45% (9 dari 20 sampel). Pengujian resistensi antibiotik meunjukkan bahwa tingkat resistensi bakteri terhadap antibiotik Amoksisilin-Asam klavulant mencapai 22%, sedangkan tingkat sensitivitasnya mencapai 78%,tingkat resistensi pada antibiotik Sulfamethoxazol-Trimethoprim mencapai 0%, sedangkan tingkat sensitivitasnya mencapai 100%, dan tingkat resistensi antibiotik Tetrasikil mencapai 11,2% sedangkan tingkat sensitivitasnya mencapai 88,8% Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat resistensi ketiga antibiotik tersebut masih rendah dan masih layak untuk pengobatan kasus ISK pada kucing.
