Abstract

Salmonellosis merupakan penyakit bakterial pada ayam broiler yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Salmonella sp. dan dapat menyebabkan kerusakan organ ginjal. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan bakteri Salmonella sp. serta gambaran histopatologi ginjal ayam broiler yang bergejala salmonellosis. Sampel berupa swab kloaka dan swab ginjal ayam broiler diambil dari pasar tradisional menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Identifikasi bakteri dilakukan melalui media BPW, RV, XLD, pewarnaan Gram, dan uji biokimia TSIA, SIM, urease, MR, serta VP. Pemeriksaan histopatologi dilakukan menggunakan pewarnaan Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa swab kloaka ayam broiler bergejala salmonellosis positif Salmonella sp., sedangkan swab ginjal menunjukkan hasil negatif. Hasil histopatologi ginjal menunjukkan adanya hemoragi, nekrosis, infiltrasi sel radang, dan kongesti. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa infeksi Salmonella sp. menyebabkan perubahan histopatologi pada ginjal ayam broiler.

This study aimed to determine the presence of Salmonella sp. and describe the kidney histopathology of broiler chickens with symptoms of salmonellosis. Cloacal swab and kidney swab samples were collected from traditional markets using purposive sampling. Bacterial identification was performed using BPW, RV, XLD media, Gram staining, and biochemical tests including TSIA, SIM, urease, MR, and VP. Histopathological examination was conducted using Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining. The results showed that cloacal swabs from broiler chickens with salmonellosis symptoms were positive for Salmonella sp., while kidney swabs were negative. Kidney histopathological examination revealed hemorrhage, necrosis, inflammatory cell infiltration, and congestion. This study concluded that Salmonella sp. infection caused histopathological changes in broiler chicken kidneys. broiler chicken, kidney histopathology, salmonellosis, Salmonella sp.
