Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the percentage of Cestoda infestation in stray cats in the Dukuh Pakis District area which includes 4 sub-districts, namely Dukuh Kupang Sub-district, Dukuh Pakis Sub-district, Gunung Sari Sub-district, and Pradah Kalikendal Sub-district. The samples used were 40 stray cat feces. A pre-research survey was conducted to estimate the distribution location of stray cats. Fecal samples were taken as much as 3 grams and labeled. Fecal samples were examined using 3 methods, namely native, sediment, and floating methods. The Cestoda eggs obtained were identified and calculated using the percentage of occurrence formula. The results showed that there were 3 types of Cestoda, namely Diphylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, and Diphyllobothrium latum. The percentage of Cestodosis occurrence was 35%, including 27.5% Dyphillidium sp., 7.5% Taenia sp., and 0% Dyphillobothrium sp.
