Abstract

PENGARUH UMUR TERHADAP KEBERHASILAN FERTILISASI PADA SAPI POTONG DI DESA KANDANGAN KECAMATAN NGAWI KABUPATEN NGAWI Dino Saifudin ABSTRACT Populasi sapi potong di Indonesia terus meningkat, mencapai 17,98 juta ekor pada tahun 2021. Di Kabupaten Ngawi sendiri terdapat 84.902 ekor sapi potong. Untuk mendukung program swasembada daging nasional, pemerintah mencanangkan program Upaya Khusus Sapi Indukan Wajib Bunting (Upsus SIWAB). Program ini dilaksanakan melalui Inseminasi Buatan (IB) untuk meningkatkan efisiensi reproduksi ternak. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan fertilisasi adalah umur ternak. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana umur sapi potong mempengaruhi tingkat keberhasilan fertilisasi melalui inseminasi buatan di Desa Kandangan, Kecamatan Ngawi. Mengetahui hubungan antara umur ternak sapi potong dengan keberhasilan fertilisasi melalui inseminasi buatan yang diukur berdasarkan pencatatan kebuntingan di Desa Kandangan Kecamatan Ngawi Kabupaten Ngawi periode 2024. Total sampel 350 ekor sapi potong yang terbagi dalam tiga kelompok umur Sapi muda (<2 tahun), sapi dewasa (2-5 tahun) sapi tua (>5 tahun). Tingkat keberhasilan fertilisasi konsisten sebesar 60% pada semua kelompok umur sapi potong. Meskipun persentase keberhasilan sama, setiap kelompok umur memiliki karakteristik reproduksi berbeda, sapi muda memiliki sistem reproduksi yang masih berkembang, sapi dewasa menunjukkan kondisi reproduksi paling optimal, sapi tua mengalami penurunan kemampuan reproduksi. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan fertilisasi meliputi faktor biologi (kematangan reproduksi, kualitas sel telur) dan faktor manajemen (nutrisi, kesehatan, waktu inseminasi).
