Abstract

Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman herbal yang dapat digunakan untuk penanggulangan infeksi dari C. albicans, karena mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik, saponin, triterpennoid, dan glikosida. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis efektiftas ekstrak etanol rimpang temulawak sebagai antibiofilm terhadap Candida alibicans penyebab kandidiasis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental murni dengan pendekatan post test control group only desain. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%,uji aktivitas antibiofilmnya menggunakan metode microtiter plate biofilm assay. Pengukuran Optical Density (OD) hasil uji aktivitas antibiofilm dilakukan dengan microplate reader pada panjang gelombang 595nm. Data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS untuk Windows V29.02. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) memiliki efektivitas secara signifikan terhadap pembentukan biofilm C. albicans (p<0.05) dengan daya hambat tertinggi pada konsentrasi 1,56%, dan nilai terkecil pada konsentrasi 50%. Nilai MBIC50 ditentukan dengan analisis probit, sehingga diperoleh konsentrasi ekstrak etanol Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) yang dapat menghambat 50% pembentukan biofilm C. albicans terletak pada konsentrasi 0,031%. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ekstrak etanol rimpang temulawak memiliki efektifitas antibiofilm terhadap C. albicans penyebab kandidiasis pada tahap pembentukan biofilm. Dengan demikian, ekstrak etanol rimpang temulawak berpotensi dijadikan sebagai obat herbal untuk terapi penyakit infeksi akibat biofilm C. albicans.
