Abstract

This research is entitled "Improving Writing Skills in Descriptive Text Using Clustering Technique in 10TH Graders of Smk Kawung 2 Surabaya". This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 4 aspects, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research aims to improve students' writing skills using clustering techniques as a learning technique. This research was carried out at Kawung 2 Vocational School Surabaya. The subjects of this research were class X AKL students. This research was implemented on May 22 and May 29, 2024. The success indicators were met in cycle 2, so this research was only carried out for 2 cycles. Data collection used tests and observations. Data collection instruments used observation sheets and writing tests. Initial data shows the percentage of student success was 31.03%. In cycle 1, it showed an increase with a result of 48%, the percentage in cycle 1 did not show indicators of success, so continued in cycle 2 it increased significantly with a result of 76%, where the percentage had reached the indicator of success. So it can be concluded that the clustering technique can improve students' writing skills. Keywords: Writing Skills, Descriptive Text, Clustering Technique.
