Abstract

Tanaman berenuk (Crescentia cujete L.) merupakan tanaman tropis yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Buah berenuk mampu mendukung proliferasi Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh paparan subkronik 90 hari fermentasi buah berenuk (Crescentia cujete L.) dosis 500 mg/kg BB terhadap imunoekspresi VEGF pada hati tikus Sprague Dawley. Penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimental dengan 16 ekor tikus yang dibagi menjadi kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan. Kelompok perlakuan diberikan fermentasi buah berenuk selama 90 hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan perlakuan dan hanya diberi pakan serta air minum secara normal selama periode penelitian. Ekspresi VEGF dianalisis menggunakan imunohistokimia dan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata ekspresi VEGF pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 0,1513 ± 0,0827% dan kelompok perlakuan sebesar 0,1587 ± 0,0991%. Perbedaan rerata yang ditemukan bersifat sangat kecil dan tidak signifikan secara statistik (p = 0,872 > 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil skoring, kedua kelompok berada pada kategori absen (skor 0) dengan presentase imunoreaktivitas VEGF kurang dari 5%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian fermentasi buah berenuk tidak memberikan efek terhadap imunoekspresi VEGF hati tikus Sprague Dawley.
