Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan bakteri Salmonella sp. penyebab penyakit salmonellosis pada bebek hibrida (hasil persilangan Peking dan Mojosari) di 3 peternakan Kelurahan Jrambe, Kecamatan Dlanggu, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Sampel swab kloaka berjumlah 38 sampel diambil dari bebek yang menunjukkan gejala klinis salmonellosis seperti diare, lesu, dan bulu kusam. Sampel diuji menggunakan metode isolasi pada media Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA), pewarnaan Gram, serta uji biokimia meliputi Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM), dan urease. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 3 dari 38 sampel (7,89%) positif bakteri Salmonella sp. dengan karakteristik koloni berwarna hitam pada media SSA, hasil pewarnaan Gram negatif dan berbentuk batang, hasil uji TSIA (alkali/acid) slant merah dan butt kuning, H₂S positif, dan gas variatif. Hasil uji SIM H₂S dan motil positif, namun indol negatif. Hasil uji urease negatif. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kejadian penyakit salmonellosis pada bebek di wilayah tersebut terhitung rendah, namun tetap berpotensi menjadi sumber penularan zoonosis. Deteksi dini dan penerapan biosekuriti sangat penting untuk mencegah penyebaran infeksi.
