Abstract

Discovery learning model is a learning model that develops ways of active learning where students discover and investigate the material to be studied, so that the material obtained can be embedded and last a long time in memory.The purpose of this study is to show that students mathematics learning outcomes with discovery learning model are better than using direct learning model on the subject of circles in class VIII SMP Kawung 2 Surabaya. The sample used in this study is simple group random sampling technique.Class VIII B was selected ad the eksperimental class and class VIII C was selected as the control class. The results of this study found that the application of discovery Learning model is better than the direct learning model. Keywords: learning model, discovery learning, direct learning
