Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) terhadap Penurunan Kadar Kolesterol Total dan Kadar LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) pada Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang Mendapat Diet Aterogenik. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter, Fakultas Kedokteran, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Pembimbing: Farida Anggraini Kecenderungan masyarakat dalam mengkonsumsi makanan cepat saji (fast food) mengakibatkan potensi meningkatnya prevalensi obesitas, diabetes mellitus dan penyakit kardiovaskuler. Konsumsi makanan tinggi lemak berlebih dapat mengakibatkan peningkatan kadar kolesterol total dan LDL. Buah merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) mengandung senyawa antioksidan yang dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total dan LDL. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total dan LDL pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang diberi diet aterogenik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Pretest Posttest Control Group Design dan Post Test Only Control Group Design. Sampel 25 ekor tikus putih dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok (kontrol positif, kontrol negatif, perlakuan 1,2, dan 3) masing-masing 5 ekor tikus denngan pengelompokan acak mengikuti rumus Fraenkle dan Wallen. Terdapat tiga perlakuan pemberian ekstrak buah merah dengan dosis (0,5 g; 1 g; 1,5 g/200 g BB per oral). Sebelum dan setelah perlakuan (hari ke-43), semua tikus diambil sampel darah untuk mengukur kadar koleterol total dan LDL. Berdasarkan uji Kruskal Wallis, didapatkan hasil nilai probability 0,043 (<0,05) pada data kadar kolesterol total kelompok posttest yang menunjukkan ada perbedaan bermakna antar kelompok perlakuan. Sedangkan berdasarkan uji One-Way ANOVA, didapatkan hasil tidak ada perbedaan bermakna antar kelompok perlakuan dengan nilai probability (0,526) > 0,05. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang mendapat diet aterogenik dan tidak ada pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) terhadap penurunan kadar LDL (low density lipoprotein) pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang mendapat diet aterogenik. Supervisor: Farida Anggraini People tend to consume fast food which has big big potential to increase the prevalence of obesity, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. Consumption of high fat food can lead to the increasing of total cholesterol and LDL. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of giving red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) on the decreasing of total cholesterol and LDL levels in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) fed atherogenic diet. This study used a pretest posttest control group design research design and posttest only control group design. The sample of 25 rats was divided into 5 groups (positive control, negative control, and three different treatments) which have each of 5 rats, randomly grouped according to the Fraenkle and Wallen formula. There are three different treatments of giving red fruit extract at doses (0,5 g; 1 g; 1,5 g/200 g BW orally). Before and after treatment (day 43), all rats were taken blood samples to measure total cholesterol and LDL levels. This result based on the Kruskal Wallis test, the p-value was 0,043 (<0,05) on the total cholesterol level of the posttest group, which indicated that there were significant differences between treatments groups. Meanwhile, based on the One-Way ANOVA test, it was found that there was no significant difference between treatment groups with a probability value (0,0526)>0,05. This reasearch concluded that there is an effect of giving red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) on reducing total cholesterol levels in white rats (Rattus noregicus) receiving an atherogenic diet and there is no effect of giving red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) on reducing LDL levels (low density lipoprotein) in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) receiving an atherogenic diet.
