Alvionita Avsari, Intan. 2020. Improving Students' Ability In Arranging English Descriptive Text Through Picture Word Inductive Model Strategy. Wijaya Kusuma University. Dukuh Kupang. Surabaya. Advisors: (I) Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd. (II) Drs. Heru Wibowo, M.Pd. This study presented the result of classroom action research in learning to write English descriptive text. It was aimed of improving student learning outcomes in class X OTP 3 SMK KAWUNG 2 Surabaya in learning to write English, especially in describing object and people through Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) strategy. This research used classroom action research through 2 cycles. During action, students worked in groups which consisted of five students. In the first cycle, students described certain object used Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). In the second cycle, students described certain people used Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) as the procedure of cycle one. Data collection was carried out simultaneously from observation and test during action. In the pre-cycle, 10 students from 30 students could described certain object and people correctly (33.34%). In the first cycle, 15 students from 30 students could described certain object correctly (50%). In the second cycle, 25 students from 30 students could described certain people correctly (83.34%). The result was proved that Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) can improve students' ability in arranging English descriptive text on class X OTP 3 SMK Kawung 2 Surabaya, with percentages from pre-cycle to cycle 1 (16,67%) and cycle 1 to cycle 2 (33,34%). Total percentage increased during the action was (50%).
