Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu manfaat pada tumbuhan daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) yaitu sebagai antidiabetik, antioksidan, analgetik (obat sakit gigi), antibakteri. Kandungan daun pandan wangi yang meliputi flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tanin, polifenol, dan zat warna, diduga memiliki kontribusi terhadap aktivitas antibakteri. Diketahui sebelumnya bahwa perasan daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) berfungsi sebagai daya hambat bakteri Shigella dysentriae. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae. Alasan dilakukannya penelitian ini disebabkan karena pada penelitian sebelumnya daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysentriae penyebab penyakit diare. Oleh karena itu peneliti tertarik untuk menganalisis lebih lanjut mengenai pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae. Dikarenakan penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan post test only control group design. Maka populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah biakan murni bakteri Shigella dysenteriae dalam agar Mueller Hinton Agar, dan jumlah sampel yang diambil untuk penelitian sebanyak 24 sampel yang terbagi dalam 6 kelompok perlakuan. Kemudian uji analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji One Way Anova. Dari hasil analisis yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, diketahui bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) pada konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae ditunjukkan oleh diameter zona hambat yang terbentuk, dimana pada kelompok yang diberi Ekstrak daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) K5 (konsentrasi 75%) ditemukan diameter zona hambat yang paling tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan kelompok perlakuan ekstrak daun pandan wangi yang lain dan pada kelompok yang diberi Ekstrak daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb)K3 dengan konsentrasi sebesar 25% sudah menunjukkan diameter zona hambat, sehingga pada dosis ini sudah mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Shigella dysenteriae Kata kunci : Daun Pandan Wangi (Pandanus Amaryllifolius Roxb), Daya Hambat, Bakteri Shigella Dysenteriae, Metode Difusi THE EFFECT OF PANDAN WANGI (Pandanus Amaryllifolius Roxb) LEAF EXTRAC AGAINST Shigella Dysentriae BACTERIAL GROWTH INHIBITION USING THE DIFFUSION METHOD Fayo Qurgafan. 2019 Medical Faculty. The content of fragrant pandanus leaves, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, polyphenols, and dyes, is thought to have contributed to antibacterial activity. Previously it was known that the fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) juice functioned as an inhibitory agent for the bacterium Shigella dysentriae. For this reason, research needs to be carried out on the effect of the giving pandanus leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) on the inhibitory growth of Shigella dysenteriae. The reason for this research is because in previous studies fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) were effective in inhibiting the growth of Shigella dysentriae bacteria that cause diarrheal disease. Therefore, researchers are interested in further analyzing the effect of the extract of fragrant pandan leaf (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) on the inhibitory growth of Shigella dysenteriae. Because this study is a laboratory experimental study with post test only control group design. The population in this study were pure Shigella dysenteriae bacteria in Mueller Hinton Agar agar, and the number of samples taken for the study were 24 samples divided into 6 treatment groups. Then the analysis test used in this study is the One Way Anova test. From the results of the analysis conducted by researchers, it is known that the giving of pandanus leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% influences the growth of Shigella dysenteriae bacteria indicated by the diameter of the inhibited zone formed, which in the group those who were given Pandan Wangi Leaf Extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) K5 (75% concentration) found the highest inhibition zone diameter when compared to the other pandanus leaf extract treatment groups and in the group that was given Pandan Wangi Leaf Extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) K3 with a concentration of 25% already showed inhibition zone diameter, so that at this dose it was able to inhibit the growth of Shigella dysenteriae bacteria Keywords: Pandan Wangi Leaves (Pandanus Amaryllifolius Roxb), Inhibition Power, Shigella Dysenteriae Bacteria, Diffusion Method
