Abstract

The study aimed to determine Anthelmintic power of sambiloto leaf extract (Andrographis paniculata nees) against Ascaridia galli worms in vitro. the sample used in this study were 125 Ascaridia galli worms which were obtained from small intestines of domestic chicken. This study used a complete randomized research design contained 5 treatment groups with 5 replications each. Those treatments were varied into two test groups. Treatment group consisted of 3 different concentrations (20%, 40%, 60%) and the control group consisted of positive control, had the substance of piperazine citrate, and the negative control was NaCl fisiologis 0.9%. Mortality observation of Ascaridia galli was carried out every hour for 24 hours. The data were analyzed by one way ANOVA test and with 5% Duncan Test further. The result of sig. value acquired from one way ANOVA was p 0.00<0.05 proved that there were significant differences between treatments. The result of Duncan Test on 60% of sambiloto extract showed that it has high anthelmintic power and was equivalent to positive control (piperazine citrate). Thus, the study concluded that the sambiloto leaf extract (andrographis paniculata nees) has anthelmintic power to the Ascaridia galli in vitro.
