Abstract

This study aims to analyze and test the positive effect of leverage, capital expenditure, firm size and liquidity measured using a quick ratio to cash holding at retail trading companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2018. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data analysis units of retail trade company financial statements listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample in this study is a retail trading company whose financial statements can be accessed at www.idx.co.id and not experiencing losses in the 2014-2018 period. The result is that there are 10 companies that meet the research criteria and the data used is time series. Data analysis of data that has been processed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that leverage has a negative and significant effect on cash holding. Capital expenditure has a negative and significant effect on cash holding. Firm size has a positive and significant effect on cash holding. Liquidity as measured by using the quick ratio has a positive and significant effect on cash holding.
