Abstract

Hermawan, Hendra Rivi. 2019. The Effect Of Simvastatin Drug Administration On Endothelial Function Seen From Flow-Mediated Dilatation (FMD) In Cardiovascular Patients At Anwar Medika Hospital Sidoarjo. Final Project, Doctor Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Wijaya University Kusuma Surabaya, Herni Suprapti Supervisor. LDL cholesterol levels and HDL cholesterol in the blood are important factors in atherosclerosis. High levels of LDL in the blood in blood vessels cause atherosclerosis which is a risk factor for heart disease. Simvastatin is a plasma cholesterol-lowering agent, which is known to have a cholesterol-independent effect, which can reduce inflammation or inflammation, improve endothelial function, coagulation and thrombosis and play a role in stabilizing atherosclerotic plaques that are beneficial in reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality both preventive primary or secondary. Flow Mediated Dilatation (FMD) is the ability of blood vessels to dilate in response to an increase in blood flow. Dilation is caused by the secretion of nitrous oxide (NO) from venous endothelium. If there is an increase in blood flow through the blood vessels, it will also be followed by the dilation of the blood vessels. Based on this description, this study aims to determine the effect of simvastatin drug administration on endothelial function seen from Flow-Mediated Dilatation (FMD) in cardiovascular patients at Anwar Medika Hospital Sidoarjo. The population in this study were cholesterol patients who were treated at Anwar Medika Sidoarjo Hospital with a total sample of 89 patients. The independent variable in this study is Simvastatin while the dependent variable is Flow-Mediated Dilatation. Data analysis of this study was processed using ANOVA statistical tests. The results of the study concluded that there was no effect of simvastatin drug administration on endothelial function seen from Flow-Mediated Dilatation (FMD) in cardiovascular patients at Anwar Medika Hospital Sidoarjo.
