Abstract

Qatrunnada, Gita, 2019, The Effect Of Antimicroba From Aloe Vera Extract On Streptococcuspyogenes's Obstacle Zone, Final Assignment, Doctor Education Study Program, Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya, Supervisor : Dr. Mas Mansyur, drs., MT. Antimicrobials plants do not have many side effects and have great therapeutic potential to treat many infectious diseases. Plants with certain compounds, such as anthraquinone, saponin, sterols, and tannins, have been known to have direct antimicrobial activity. Active compounds are the source of polysaccharides and have antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, angiogenic, immune system modulators, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, laxatives, analgesics, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, antihepatitis, ulcerantigastric, and antineoplastic activity. One of the plants as an antimicrobial is Aloe vera, it contains more than 75 nutrients and 200 active compounds, including vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugar, lignin, anthraquinone, saponins, salicylic acid and acidamino. Based on the advantages possessed by Aloe vera, this study was conducted to find out about the antimicrobial activity of the Aloe vera plant against the growth of sterptococcuspyogenes. This study used culture of Streptococcus pyogenes as its population and the samples taken were 25 samples provided that each treatment group consisted of 5 so that negative plates and controls used distilled water without the addition of extracts and positive controls using the antibiotic Amoxicillin. Then the data obtained were analyzed by parametric statistical tests using the One Way ANOVA test followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test if there were differences. The result of the study is Aloe vera leaf extract has an effect on the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria indicated by the diameter of the inhibitory zone formed. This is evidenced by the diameter of the inhibitory zone on Aloe vera leaf extract at concentrations of 25%, 50% and 100%. Keywords : Antimicrobial, Aloe Vera Gel Extract, Sterptococcus Pyogenes
