Advisor : Dra. Bekti Wirawati, MPd Keywords : Small Group Interaction, Reading Skill, Senior High School This study presents teaching reading by using small group interaction. Reading is a cognitive process of decoding and getting meaning from print requires letters and information. When one is reading a text, it is more than just saying the words, but reading is the process when a reader identifies the relationship between words by words and then understand the meaning of these words so that a reader gain a thorough understanding of what they read. In teaching, there are many strategies can be implemented, one of them is small group interaction. Small group interaction is one of the cooperative learning strategies in which students work in groups of three or four. A small group is a small member of human, work together through interaction whose interdependent relationship allows them to achieve a mutual goal. The presentation are divided into three phase; preparation, implementation, and evaluation. By using small group interaction, students can get new inspiration to do the reading task. They can easily generate their ideas/answers, increase their confidence, and encourage their participation in the activity.
