Abstract

ABSTRACT Anselmus Phelipus Pilly, Voting Behavior in the Election of President and Vice President in 2019 (Case Study of the Behavior of Surabaya Student Voters from Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Wijaya Kusuma University, Surabaya Public participation in the general election of president and vice president is an action to dispose of their rights as citizens in choosing leaders who can lead well. tendency to choose one of the candidates for president and vice president in the general election for voters there are behaviors that arise from internal and external aspects, where both aspects are determined by factors that encourage voters in determining their choice. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of students from Nagekeo Regency, NTT Province in Surabaya on the efforts of presidential candidate pairs to obtain support from students, about the procedure for changing voter addresses in the 2019 elections, and the behavior of 2019 presidential and vice presidential student voters. Based on these objectives , then the research method used is a quantitative method with a population of 109 and a sample of 55 students. The results showed that the behavior of student voters from Nagekeo Regency in NTT Province knew information about the pairs of candidates for President and Vice President, did not know the working procedures of the KPU, and did not know what C5 was in choosing the President and Vice President. The results of the study also concluded that despite being enthusiastic about the presidential voters, the students did not participate in the voting of lecture activities, and lack of socialization from the KPU.
