Abstract

The purposed of this research to determine the effect of ethanol extract of turmeric on the number of lymphocytes and body weight in broiler chicken given Avian Influenza vaccine (AI). we used 24 broiler chicken as a experimentation. this kind of research called experimental laboratory and research design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 24 random sampling technique and divided into 4 treatments, namely P0 (control), P1 (40% turmeric extract), P2 (turmeric extract 50 %), and P3 (turmeric extract 60%). Chicken weight was weighed daily until day 18, while chicken lymphocyte examination was performed on days 8, 14, and 18. Data was processed using SPSS by (One Way Annova) method followed by (Duncan Multiple Range) for examine the differences of treatments. The results of this research showed that chicken weight gain was P0 (394.33 ± 5.03), P1 (405 ± 5.56), P2 (434 ± 21.5), and P3 (595 ± 65). The total results of chicken lymphocytes were P0 (58.67 ± 7.09), P1 (55 ± 8), P2 (60 ± 7), and P3 (56 ± 5.29). The conclusion of this research was turmeric ethanol extract has no effect to the weight gain and the number of broiler lymphocytes given Avian Influenza (AI) vaccine.
