Abstract

This study was arranged to examine and analyze the influence of labor market considerations, social values, work environment, professional recognition, and professional training on the career selection of Surabaya Wijaya Kusuma University accounting students as a public accountant. The subjects in this study were students of the Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya accounting study program for the eighth semester of 2014 and the sixth semester of 2015. The sample used purposive sampling and used a questionnaire of 101 respondents. The method used is by using SPSS data using multiple linear regersion. The results of this study on simultan and partial showed indicate that labor market considerations, social values, work environment, professional recognition, and professional training have a significant influence on the tendency of accounting students' careers at Wijaya Kusuma University for choosing a career as a public accountant.
