Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis efek esktrak daun kecombrang sebagai antibakteri alami pada Escherichia coli secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental mengenai efek ekstrak daun kecombrang sebagai antibakteri alami dibandingkan denga antibiotik tetrasiklin terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. Uji sensitivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun kecombrang dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dilakukan menggunakan difusi cakram disk. Pengamatan dilakukan 1 x 24 jam selama inkubasi berlangsung. Daerah bening yang terbentuk merupakan petunjuk kepekaan tehadap antibiotik atau ekstrak antibakteri yang digunakan sebagai bahan uji. Hasil pengujian dianalisi menggunakan ANOVA dan Ducan. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan didapatkan hasil hawa ekstrak daun kecombrang dengan berbagai konsentrasi tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuan bakteri Escherichia coli. Ekstrak daun kecombrang dengan konsentrasi 65%,75%,85% memperlihatkan tidak ada zona hambat dibandingkan dengan antibiotik Tetrasiklin. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa ekstrak daun kecombrang tidak mampu menghambat bakteri Escherichia coli. Kata Kunci : Etlingera elatior, ekstrak daun kecombrang, antibakteri, Escherichia coli, in vitro
