Abstract
English lessons is one of important part of the 2013 Curriculum and in the material lesson in senior high school level making written text is one of basic competencies of English lessons. The purpose of this research is to recognize whether using the build better communication (BBC) can improve students' writing on biography text at XI grade of SMA Kawung 2 Surabaya. This research focuses on the standard of competence and the basic competence in the English Lessons. In this research, the subject of the research was 21 students of XI IPA and IPS students who were learning about writing a biography text by using the BBC learning application on biography form. The data of the study were taken from observation checklist that consisted of the teacher and the students' activities in teaching and learning process during the implementation of BBC learning. The researcher used observation sheet and writing test, Observation technique was used to observe and analyzed about what is happening in the class & the condition in the teaching process. It was proved by through the percentage increase in student’s from the previous score from teacher and test score 9,52%. After the researcher implemented BBC Learning and analyze the data in this class, it showed that this strategy is suitable and can improve the writing skill on Biography Text with two cycles with the percentage 47,61% in the first cycle and 85,71% in the second cycle.
