Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas ekstrak daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say. Larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say merupakan hewan coba yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 250 ekor. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Lima perlakuan terdiri atas kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari kontrol positif yaitu abate dan kontrol negatif yaitu aquades serta kelompok perlakuan yaitu ekstrak daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) yang terdiri atas konsentrasi 0,1%, 0,2% dan 0,4%. Pengamatan terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say dilakukan selama 6 jam setiap 1 jam sekali. Data hasil penelitian kemudian dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA lalu dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Duncan dengan aplikasi IBM SPSS dan taraf kepercayan a=0,05. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pada perlakuan ekstrak daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) konsentrasi 0,4% memiliki efektivitas yang lebih baik terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol positif abate. Maka dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ekstrak daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) konsentrasi 0,4% dapat dijadikan alternatif biolarvasida karena lebih efektif terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say dibandingkan abate/temephos. Kata Kunci : Larva nyamuk Culex quinquefasciatus Say, ekstrak daun miana, mortalitas. ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of miana leaf extract (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) on the mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus Say larvae. The larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus Say mosquito were experimental animal used in this study total 250. The research design used was a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 5 repetitions. Five treatments consisted of a control group consisting of positive control, namely abate, and negative control, namely aquades, and a treatment group consisting of miana leaf extract (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) consisting of concentrations of 0.1%, 0.2% and 0,4%. Observations on the mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus Say larvae were carried out every 1 hour for 6 hours. The research data were then analyzed using ANOVA and then followed by Duncan's test with the IBM SPSS and the confidence level was a=0.05. The results showed that the 0.4% concentration of miana leaf extract (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) had better effectiveness on mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus Say mosquito larvae than the positive control abate treatment. It can be concluded that the 0.4% concentration of miana leaf extract (Coleus scutellarioides (L). Benth) can be used as an alternative to biolarvicides because it is more effective against the mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus Say larvae than abate/temephos.
