Abstract

Alina Firdhausya, 2022 Using Kahoot as Media to Improve Reading Comprehension Skill for Grade X Students in Vocational High Scholl of Kawng 2 Surabaya. A thesis of English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Science, University of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. A thesis guided by Dr. Ribur Surjowati, S.Pd. M.Pd. and Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd. The objectives of this research was to find out that Kahoot can media to improve reading comprehension skill and to describe the implementation of Kahoot in reading class in grade X AKL 2 Vocational High School of Kawung 2 Surabaya. This research used grade X AKL 2 (Accounting) as participant. There are 29 of students with 7 boys and 22 girls. This research used Clasroom Action Research and consist of 2 cycles, each cycles consist of planning, action, observation, and reflection. After assessing students’s reading comprehension in cycle 1 and 2, the data were obtained. The result of this research can be seen on second cycle. The first cycle showed that 27% of students in the class improved, it still less of standard . In cycle 2 there was 79% of students in the class improved. It was more than standard. It showed that the research in cycle 2 succesed. Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Clasroom Action Research, Kahoot
