Abstract

Nutritional problems among school children are still relatively high. School children are one of the nutrient-prone groups that need attention on their nutritional status, so that in the future they become quality human resources. This study aims to analyze the description of nutrient intake and nutritional status based on body mass index (IMT) by looking at the prevalence of obesity, thinness, and shortness of elementary school students in Bangsal Sari District, Jember Regency. This study involved 43 samples of grade 4 and 5 students from SD Negeri V Rambutan, Bangsal Sari District, Jember Regency. Students were selected to be respondents with a total sampling technique using inclusion criteria. by measuring the height and weight of all respondents and then calculated the body mass index (IMT) for each respondent. Data was collected using a questionnaire conducted in September 2020. Then it was processed statistically univariate and bivariate using the Rank Spearmen correlation test. The results of this study showed a significant relationship (p = 0.000) between nutrient intake and nutritional status based on body mass index at SDN V Bangsal Sari Jember.
