Abstract

Tourism sector is a sector that plays an important role especially in the formation of economic growth, this study discusses how the impact of the development of KenPark tourism object on social, economic, and community institutions in the District of Bulak, Surabaya. This research is qualitative in nature using the Historical Research approach to compare how KenPark used to be now. The results of this study, namely Kenjeran Park has given a social impact such as the lack of finding young couples who commit immoral acts violating social norms, reduced crime because more community activities, the availability of landfills that minimize the actions of residents and visitors to tourism objects to littering, but unfortunately it has not faded the habit of people who engage in pigeon fighting activities, consume liquor, and gamble, in addition, the emergence of illegal parking with high levies. Economic impact The reduced number of unemployed people, especially in Bulak Subdistrict, because Kenjeran Park provides opportunities for local residents to work as ticketing, security, and cleaning staff, residents who initially worked as fishermen, due to the decline in marine products, now they are turning into processed traders and handicrafts from the sea, the availability of Bulak Fish Center (SIB) land with many kiosks can be used as a place for street vendors to trade, so that it is more organized, Kenjeran Park's trading income also increases, as visitors start arriving from various regions especially from outside the city of Surabaya, there are more street vendors who sell not only processed seafood, but also sell children's snacks such as cilok, sausages, egg rolls, and ice cream. The institutional impact, namely the construction of Kenjeran Park and Suramadu Bridge, provides an attraction for developers to develop the property business by building housing and apartments because of its strategic location and providing seaside views.
