Abstract

Fraktur tibia-fibula pada ayam memerlukan penanganan yang tepat untuk mendukung proses penyembuhan tulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran histopatologi pembentukan kalus pasca fiksasi eksternal dengan suplementasi kalsium yang mengandung shark chondroitin dan kalsium pada ayam broiler. Sebanyak 18 ekor ayam broiler dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol sehat (K), fraktur dengan bandage (P1), dan fraktur dengan bandage serta suplementasi kalsium (P2). Suplementasi diberikan selama 23 hari, kemudian pada hari ke-24 dilakukan pemeriksaan histopatologi dengan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-Eosin (HE). Parameter yang diamati meliputi hemoragi, osteoblas, dan osteosit. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan Pairwise Comparison. Hasil menunjukkan kelompok P2 memiliki skor hemoragi terendah (0,50 ± 1,22), serta skor osteoblas (3,33 ± 0,82) dan osteosit (3,67 ± 0,52) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok lainnya. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada hemoragi (p=0,007), osteoblas (p=0,009), dan osteosit (p=0,002). Pemberian suplementasi kalsium yang mengandung shark chondroitin dan kalsium bersama fiksasi eksternal menunjukkan gambaran histopatologi yang mendukung pembentukan dan maturasi kalus pada ayam broiler.
