Fitri, Dinda Oktaviani. 2026. “Using Kahoot Application to Improve Reading Comprehension on Narrative Text at Tenth Graders of SMA Hang Tuah 1 Surabaya.” Thesis of English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University. Advisors: Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd. and Diah Yovita Suryarini, S.Sos., M.Pd. The objective of this study was to improve narrative text reading comprehension among X-6 students at SMA Hang Tuah 1 Surabaya using the Kahoot application. Following Kemmis and McTaggart’s model, this Classroom Action Research (CAR) was carried out in two cycles. The data were collected through observation checklists and reading tests. The findings demonstrated an improvement in students' reading skills. This was indicated by the rising percentage of students meeting the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), which started at 0% in the preliminary test, rose to 41.93% in Cycle 1, and hit 77.41% in Cycle 2. In conclusion, Kahoot application improves students' comprehension of narrative texts and increase their classroom participation.
