Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Osteoarthritis (OA) merupakan penyakit degeneratif sendi yang umum terjadi pada usia lanjut, ditandai dengan kerusakan tulang rawan dan peradangan kronis. Salah satu sitokin anti-inflamasi yang memiliki peran penting dalam proses OA adalah Interleukin-4 (IL-4). IL-4 diketahui mampu menghambat aktivitas enzim proteolitik dan menurunkan ekspresi sitokin proinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara profil IL-4 serum darah dengan tingkat keparahan osteoarthritis lutut. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional analitik dengan pendekatan potong lintang (cross-sectional). Sebanyak 23 lansia dengan OA lutut dari komunitas Pondok OA Posyandu Larasati Dukuh Kupang Surabaya dijadikan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data profil IL-4 diperoleh melalui uji ELISA, sedangkan derajat keparahan OA ditentukan berdasarkan radiologi menggunakan klasifikasi Kellgren-Lawrence. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji chi-square menggunakan SPSS. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki profil IL-4 tinggi (91,3%) dan tingkat keparahan OA terbanyak pada grade 2 (52,2%). Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara profil IL-4 serum darah dengan tingkat keparahan OA lutut (p > 0,05). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara profil Interleukin-4 serum darah dengan tingkat keparahan osteoarthritis lutut. Meskipun demikian, profil IL-4 yang tinggi pada sebagian besar responden menunjukkan adanya aktivitas kompensasi anti-inflamasi dalam tubuh. Penelitian lanjutan dengan jumlah sampel lebih besar dan pemeriksaan IL-4 lokal dianjurkan untuk memperkuat temuan ini.
