Abstract

The research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research is to describe the process of The Use of Mind Mapping to Improve Writing Skill to Tenth-1 Graders of Hang Tuah 1 Senior High School Surabaya with the total of students are 30 on 19th February 2025 and 24th February 2025. This research was completed in two cycles because the students had reached the success indicator in the second cycle. The data collection technique in this research were using observation sheets and test. There were four stages in each cycle in this research, namely : Planning, Acting, Observing and Reflecting. The results of this research show that there is an improvement in each cycle. In the Preliminary Study only 11 students with percentages of 36,66% got above the minimal score, meanwhile in the Cycle I there were 16 students with the percentages of 53.33% obtained scores above the standar minimum score and in the Cycle II there were 25 students with the percentages of 83.33% obtained values above the minimum score. It can be concluded that using Mind Mapping Technique can help students to improve their writing skill.
