Abstract

Seran, Theofila Maria 2024 title "Improving Writing Of Recount Text Through Diary Writing To Second-Grade At SMPK St.Mikhael Surabaya"Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University.Dukuh Kupang,Surabaya Under the thesis of the English Education Department, the Faculty of Language and Science, Wijaya Kusuma University of Surabaya.Pembimbing: I Dra.Bekti Wirawati,Mpd and (II) Dr.Lusiani Key Words: Writing, Recount Text, Diary The purpose of this research is to find out whether the use of diary writing can improve writing skills in eighth-grade students at SMPK St Mikhael Surabaya. The research was carried out in two cycles in research with the title "IMPROVING WRITING OF RECOUNT TEXT THROUGH DIARY WRITING TO SECOND-GRADE STUDENTS" with a total of 26 students consisting of boys and girls. The data obtained from observation sheets, application to tests, and cycles I and II, showed that there was an increase in each cycle, and also the test shows that students' writing skills have improved after implementing diary writing. The results of the research can have a good and positive impact both for students and for researchers themselves, where applying the diary writing method to students can improve students' skills and abilities in writing.
