Bhato, Noberto Christanto. Improving Improving Students Writing Skill on Descriptive Text by Using Instagram at XI-3 Hang Tuah 4 Senior High School Surabaya. Advisor : (I) Dr. Ribut Surjowati, S.Pd., M.Pd and (II) Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd. Key Words : Writing Skill, Descriptive Text, Instagram, Improving. English language learning is an important part of the Merdeka Curriculum and in the subject matter at the senior high school level, creating written texts is one of the objectives of learning English. At high school level there are several texts that must be studied, one of which is descriptive text. This research aims to find out whether Instagram can improve students' writing skills in descriptive text. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used in this research. The subjects of this research were students in class XI-3 of SMA Hang Tuah 4 Surabaya with a total of 28 students. When the researcher observed the students, the researcher found that the students' writing skills were poor, many students are not able to write well, still experience difficulties in writing descriptive text, such as not yet mastering grammar, not being able to find ideas, and having limited vocabulary. The research findings showed that teaching writing descriptive text using Instagram influences students' writing skills, this is proven by the percentage increase in student test scores from the teacher previous score was 35.71% and test score from cycle 1 was 57.14% and then from cycle 2 improved to be 82.14%.
