Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus atau DM adalah penyakit kronis yang mempengaruhi kadar glukosa darah. Kadar glukosa darah penderita ditemukan lebih dari normal yaitu pada kadar gula darah puasa di atas atau sama dengan 126 mg/dl dan kadar gula darah sewaktu-waktu sama dengan atau lebih dari 200 mg/dl. Diabetes gestasional adalah jenis diabetes yang terjadi selama masa kehamilan hingga melahirkan. Interleukin-6 disekresikan oleh sel T dan makrofag untuk merangsang respon imun tubuh pada berbagai penyakit seperti DM. Senyawa saponin dalam ekstrak pare mampu meregenerasi pankreas yang menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah pulau Langerhans dan sel β pankreas sehingga sekresi insulin meningkat. Peningkatan sekresi insulin akan membantu menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. kadar glukosa darah yang rendah akan mengurangi peradangan Tingginya jumlah penderita Diabetes Mellitus Gestasional menjadi alasan dilakukannya penelitian ini. Trofoblas yang bersentuhan langsung dengan rahim dibuat dalam keadaan hiperglikemia dengan harapan dapat mewakili pasien hamil dengan Diabetes Mellitus. Buah pare yang memiliki zat aktif sebagai penurun glukosa darah membuat penulis ingin meneliti apakah ada pengaruh ekstrak pare pada kultur sel trofoblas atmosfir hiperglikemia terhadap kadar IL-6 Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji One Way Anova menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pemberian ekstrak pare pada kultur sel trofoblas atmosfer-hiperglikemia terhadap kadar IL-6 dengan nilai p = 0,042.
