Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of giving cassava leaf extract (Manihot utilissima Pohl) with a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% on the killing power of Escherichia coli bacteria using the dilution method. The population in this study was the culture of Escherichia coli with a sample size of 25. The independent variable of this study was the extract of cassava leaves (Manihot utilissima Pohl) with a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, while the dependent variable was This study is the number of colonies of Escherichia coli growth. The solvent used in this research is ethanol. The data in this study were not analyzed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program because there was no killing power. The results showed that administration of cassava leaf extract (Manihot utilissima Pohl) with a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% did not have the power to kill Escherichia coli. This was proven by the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria that grew on agar media. Keywords : Cassava leaf extract (Manihot utilissima Pohl), killing power, Escherichia coli
