Arif Anggoro Yuli. 2020. Improving Students Speaking Skill Using Snowball Throwing Techinique for The Tenth Grade SMK KAWUNG 2 Surabaya. Advisor : Dra. Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd and Hj. Siti Azizah, S.Pd, M.Pd. The objective of this research was to find out the improvement of students’ speaking skill by using Snowball Throwing technique at SMK KAWUNG 2 Surabaya. The design of research was a classroom action research. The research was conducted at SMK KAWUNG 2 Surabaya in October 2019. The subjects of this research were the X AK-1 grade students of SMK KAWUNG 2 Surabaya in 2019/2020 academic year. It consist of 30 students. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps: plan, action, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments of this study were observation sheet, speaking test and documentation. The data were analyzed from field notes and the students’ score in speaking test. The result of this study showed that the students’ speaking skill improved by using technique. There was a significant improvement from diagnostic test, cycle I and cycle II. From diagnostic test, 16.6% students can pass the speaking test. It improves as many as 27.8% to cycle I. While cycle I, 50.% can pass the speaking test. It improves as many as 36.1% to cycle II. While from cycle II, 76.6% can pass the speaking test. Thus, all implemented actions were successful to improve the students’ speaking skill by using Snowball Throwing technique.
