Improving Students’Paragraph Writing Skill Through Clustering Technique At XI IPS 1 Class Of SMA Hang Tuah 4 Surabaya, Thesis, English Department Language and Science Faculty University of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Advisor: 1. Dra. BektiWirawatiM.Pd : 2. Dra. Siti AzizahM.Pd Key Words :Improving Students’ Paragraph Writing Skill, Clustering Technique. This study aims to improve students' paragraph writingskill through clustering technique at XI IPS 1 class of Hang Tuah 4 HighSchool in Surabaya. The subjects of this study consisted of 24 students. This study used a classroom action research (CAR) method. The class action research design applied in this study was collaborative classroom action research. Researcher collaborated with the English teacher of SMA Hang Tuah 4 as an observer and it was done in two cycles improvement on scores in paragraph. It couldbe seen from the students scores at the end of each cycle and the KKM was 8.3% in pre-cycle In the first cycle 16% of students passed the KKM. In the second cycle, students who passed the KKM greatly increased ie 70.8%, so that the second cycle canbedeclaredsuccessful.
