Abstract

This study aims to determine the blood-sucking flies species, the highest activity time of the blood-sucking flies population and blood-sucking flies population dynamics that were found around the dairy cattle farm in Bendul Merisi Village, Wonocolo, Surabaya City. The study used malaised trap to collect population flies. This research was conducted in two weeks. The observation was performed four times in two weeks for 10 hours, starting from 7.00 to 16.00 due to its covers three times in a day (morning, afternoon and evening). The data will be tested using the normality test and homogeneity test then followed by the one way ANOVA test. In this study, the diversity of spesies that was obtained including stomoxys calcitrans, Tabanus megalops and Tabanus rubidus. The highest activity time was at 10:00. Based in dynamiics during four observations, the high dominance was shown by stomoxys calcitrans with a relative abundance of 61,49%.
