Abstract
The aim of this study was to calculate the degree of Nematode worms infestation in the horse stools lived at the Aegis Stable Ranch, Trawas, Mojokerto, and to calculate the severity of the infection. This study was conducted on 28 September – 15 November 2019. The samples, which were in a form of feces taken from 43 horses, were sent to the parasitology laboratory of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma, Surabaya, with the help of cool box provided by an animal husbandry named Aegis Stable, located in Trawas, Mojokerto. The samples were examined using the Native Test and Buoyancy Test. Once it was deemed positive that Nematode worm eggs could be found in the feces, a Whitlock Test would be performed in order to count the worm eggs per gram of stool. The results of this study indicated that the level of Nematode worms severity was not too high because the horses were nurtured properly, the drums were always in a clean condition, the foods were always washed and dried, and the routine administration of worm medicine in every 6 months was always performed sustainably. From the 43 identified feces samples taken from the horses of Aegis Stable, it could be found that the Nematode worm eggs which infected the horses were belonged to Strongyloides spp and Parascris equorum.
