Abstract

The objective of this research is to mention any kinds of reward and to describe the implementation of giving reward to the students. This study was conducted at SMAN 1 Waru. The subjects of this study were the English teacher and students of 11 social 3 at SMAN 1 Waru in the second academic year 2018/2019. They were 1 English teacher and 34 students. The researcher collected the data using descriptive qualitative research design. The data of this study were collected through interview, observation, and documentation. The instrument of the data was the researcher itself using observation checklists and hand phone for camera and recorder. The result of the study showed that the teacher gave 1 kind of reward to the students. That was a point. It had 2 types of point; they were +3 and +5. Reward point +3 was given to 3 students who was coming on time in the location of the class began and to 4 students who collected the remedial on that day. Reward point +5 was given to 3 students who were being the first performance in singing and analyzing a song.
