Abstract
The objective of this paper is to explain the implementation of Clustering Technique to teach writing Narrative Text for Senior High School students. Clustering Technique is described as a kind of technique that groups ideas from the general into a more specific and more focused. Clustering Technique is then chosen as a technique used for writing due to the success of some previous related studies. Moreover, some experts also believe that Clustering Technique is a good technique for helping students in mastering writing skills, by generating the main topic into specific clues. In this paper, the writer describes how Clustering Technique is implemented in the class, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. This technique is easily implemented either for teacher or students. By using this technique, students will be motivated to write a complete Narrative Text by writing some clues first. Besides, this technique is simple and quite easy for teacher, since s/he does not need to use any difficult media. Though the use of Clustering Technique might lead students to ignore their grammatical aspect during the writing activity and take longer time, this technique is still recommended for teaching writing to students.
