Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP SEX, LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION EVENT NUMBERS WITH HYPERTENSION IN ELDERLY HEALTH AT DUKUH KUPANG SURABAYA Reni Wijayanti. 2017 Final Assignment. Department of Doctor’s Education. Medical Faculty. Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University, Surabaya. Preceptor : Sri Lestari Utami, SSI, Kes. ABSTRACT One of degenerative diseases to wary is hypertension. Hypertension is a public health problem because it is the silent killer disease that no signs or symptoms that can be seen from the outside, causing complications in target organs. The purpose of this study was to prove the relationship between gender, age, level of knowledge and level of education and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Puskesmas Dukuh Kupang Surabaya. The population in this study are patients with hypertension in Dukuh Kupang health center with a large sample taken 70 samples (70 respondents). This study data analysis using chi square test on the degree of confidence of 95% and α = 5% (0.05). Research shows there is a relationship between level of education and knowledge with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Puskesmas Dukuh Kupang Surabaya. The level of education with sig. = 0.006 <0.05 and level of knowledge with sig. = 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that the level of education and knowledge of one's effect on the incidence of hypertension in Dukuh Kupang Surabaya Health Center in 2016. However, the research shows the difference with the calculated chi square for sex obtained sig. = 0.548> 0.05, which means that gender did not affect the incidence of hypertension in Dukuh Kupang Surabaya Health Center in 2016.
