Abstract

Peptic ulcer is defined as a mucosal or submucosal defect with a confirmed boundary and can penetrate the muscularis layer untul the serous layer until perforation occurs. Peptic ulcer has a round, semi-round, or oval, with depth of > 5 mm to submucosal layer of the gastric mucosa resulting in a discontinuity of the continuity or integrity of the gastric mucosa. Ginger contain gingerol which has the ability to be anti-inflammatory with inhibin TNFα and ILβy and gastroprotective using proton pump inhibitor H+/K+ -ATPase from the stomach thus causing a decrease in gastric acid secretion. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of firmly press ginger (Zingiber officinale) orally on healing process of peptic ulcer in male white rats Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) strain. The experiment unit of this study was male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) with ade of 2-3 months and weighhing 157 grams - 266 grams and mice in good health. The sample size used was 24 wistar (Rattus norvegicus) strain white rats were divided into 6 experimental unit groups. The results of data processing of neutrophil, eosinophil, and macrophage cells by a one-way ANOVA test showed a significance value of 0,000, 0,000, 0,000 where (p <0,05). These results indicate that oral administration of ginger (Zingiber officinale) has an effect on the healing process of peptic ulcer in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Keyword : Firmly press ginger (Zingiber officinale), Peptic ulcer
