Abstract

ABSTRACT The behavior of individuals or families to a disease depends on the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of the individual, if the individual's knowledge of an illness is not / not yet known, the attitude and action in the prevention of disability was sometimes overlooked, this is also a risk factor incidence of leprosy , Therefore, this study was conducted inPHC Gayam Sumenep 2018 to determine / analyze more about the relationship of knowledge, contacts and personal hygiene history with the incidence of leprosy at the health center Gayam Sumenep 2018. This research is analytic survey with case control study design. So that the population in this study are divided into groups of case and control groups, where the population is a case of leprosy patients in the health center Gayam Sumenep in 2018 while population control is not lepers who lived with lepers and the closest to the case group. With the number of samples taken for groups of 21 persons case and control groups were 21, so that the overall number of samples is 42 people. This research data obtained from health centers and medical cacatan questionnaire, which is then analyzed by counting (Odds Ratio / OR). And analysis of test results obtained from the data thatknowledge, contact history and personal hygiene are factors leprosy incidence in Puskesmas Gayam Sumenepin 28 June to 9 July 2019, Where a person withthe level of lack of knowledge about leprosy at risk 10.625 times more likely to experience the incidence of leprosy, someone who has a history of contact with intense leprosy patients more at risk of 4.062 times more likely to experience the incidence of leprosy as well as someone with personal hygiene are poor at risk 8,000 times more likely to experience the incidence of leprosy Keywords: knowledge, contact history, personal hygiene, leprosy
