Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK SEREH (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) TERHADAP KEMATIAN NYAMUK Culex quinquefasciatus Say Elsya Nur Mahdania ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak sereh (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) terhadap kematian nyamuk Culex quenquefasciatus Say. Hewan coba yang digunakan adalah nyamuk Culex quenquefasciatus Say berjumlah 625 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P01 = perlakuan kontrol positif, P02 = perlakuan kontrol negatif, P1 = perlakuan dengan ekstrak sereh 20%, P2 = perlakuan dengan ekstrak sereh 30%, P3 = perlakuan dengan ekstrak sereh 40%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Uji one way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan 5%. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan one way ANOVA nilai sig. (p value) yaitu p 0.00 < 0.05 pada taraf 5% artinya terdapat perbedaan efektivitas di antara perlakuan. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan bahan aktif prallethrin mempunyai efektifitas tertinggi terhadap kematian nyamuk Culex quenquefasciatus Say, diikuti dengan ekstrak sereh 40%, 30% dan 20% . Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pemberian ekstrak sereh 40% mendekati efektifitas dari bahan aktif prallethrin, sehingga bila konsentrasi ekstrak sereh ditingkatkan akan menyamai efektifitas bahan aktif prallethrin. Kata Kunci : Culex quenquefasciatus Say, ekstrak sereh, kematian nyamuk EFFECTIVITY OF SEREH EXTRACT (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) AGAINTS MOSQUITO Culex quinquefasciatus Say DEATH Elsya Nur Mahdania ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effectivity of sereh extract (Cymbopogon nardus L.Rendle) against mosquito Culex quenquefasciatus Say death. Samples used 625 Culex quenquefasciatus Say mosquitos. the design used completely randomized with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment was P01 = positive control treatment, P02 = negative control treatment, P1 = treatment with 20% sereh extract, P2 = treatment with 30% sereh extract and P3 = treatment with 40% sereh extract. Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA and continued with Duncan Test 5%. The results of one way ANOVA is sig. (p value) 0:00 > 0.05 at 5% level mean that there are differences beetwen the treatments. Duncan test revealed that prallethrin active ingredients give the high effectivity to the Culex quenquefasciatus Say death, it was followed by 40% sereh extract, 30% and finally 20% sereh extract in effectivity the Culex quenquefasciatus Say death. From the results of the study it was concluded that the giving of sereh extract 40% approached the effectivity of the prallethrin active ingredient, so that if the sereh extract concentration was increased it would equal the effectivity of the prallethrin active ingredient.
