Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan bakteri Pseudomonas sp. dan Escherichia coli pada mukosa mulut Varanus salvator dan membandingkan jumlah total bakteri pada mukosa mulut Varanus salvator jantan dan Varanus salvator betina. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksploratif laboratorik untuk memperdalam pengetahuan mengenai dugaan yang sifatnya masih baru dengan memanfaatkan alat alat laboratorik. Sampel yang digunakan diperoleh dari mukosa mulut 10 ekor Varanus salvator jantan dan 10 ekor Varanus salvator betina. Sampel yang didapatkan kemudian diinkubasi dan diinokulasikan dan dilakukan perhitungan jumlah total bakteri. Hasil dari 20 sampel mukosa pada Varanus salvator menunjukkan bahwa bakteri Pseudomonas sp. dan escherichia coli. Adapun total kandungan bakteri yang ditemukan pada Varanus salvator jantan lebih banyak daripada total bakteri pada Varanus salvator betina. KATA KUNCI : Reptil, bakteri, mulut, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas Abstract This research aim to detected Pseudomonas sp. and Escherichia coli in Varanus salvator’s mouth mucose and compared total bacteria population between male Varanus salvator and female Varanus salvator. This research used laboratoric explotative to deepen the knowledge that has new hypothetical through laboratoric tools. Samples that used in this research came from mouth mucose of 10 male Varanus salvator and 10 female Varanus salvator. After that the samples were incubated and inoculated to calculated the bacteria population. Based on the result from 20 mucose samples of Varanus salvator, Pseudomonas sp. and Escherichia coli can be found. Therefore, the number of total bacteria which founded in male Varanus salvator is higher than female Varanus salvator. The result of 20 mucose samples from Varanus salvator, Pseudomonas sp. and Escherichia coli was found. As for the comparation of total bacteria, male Varanus salvator has more total bacteria population than female Varanus salvator. KEYWORDS: Reptile, bacteria, oral, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas
