Abstract

ABSTRACT Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University as an institution to improve education, extension and analysis center as well as the development of important cultures and technologies in the development of the Nation and State. This research is to examine the empirical results regarding emotional intelligence and learning behavior towards the understanding of accounting students of the faculty of economics and business accounting program at the University of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. In this study there are several factors that are used to determine the quality of accounting understanding, including: a) emotional intelligence, b) learning behavior This study uses a questionnaire method. Where the data collection is given or spreads a list of questions to respondents who meet the requirements and are willing to fill in the sincerity of the questionnaire provided. The sample used is nonprobability sampling that is by purposive sampling, the purpose of this population will be seen samples of predetermined criteria. The overall results performed on each independent variable of emotional intelligence, including self-recognition, self-control, empathy and learning behavior did not affect the dependent variable, namely the understanding of accounting.. The results shown by the data carried out by the researcher showed that emotional intelligence .000 had an effect on the dependent variable, namely the understanding of accounting. and the behavior of .531 learning does not affect the dependent variable, namely the understanding of accounting.
