Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of variable financial or salary rewards, professional training, professional recognition, work environment, labor market considerations and personalities on the perceptions of accounting students in choosing an accountant profession.The study sample used a purposive sampling method with the criteria of the accounting students Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya Regular Literature-1 Program at the end of the 5th semester, 7th semester and 9th semester that had taken 1 auditing and auditing courses 2. The number of samples used and can be processed as much as 100 respondents. Data collected in the form of primary data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires and secondary data in the form of previous theses related to this study, internet journals and literature references.The results of this study prove that the variable financial or salary rewards, professional training and labor market considerations, have a significant effect on the career choice of the accounting profession. While in terms of the variables of professional recognition, work environment and personality did not significantly influence the career choice of the accounting profession.
